Social Workers, Manifesting the Life You Want
Social Workers create compassionate spaces for others to explore their feelings and heal from emotional and/or physical pain. Social Workers often have little energy to heal themselves and are left with just enough time to create a temporary shelter from the worst bottom of emotional experiences. Hearing others stories of pain and loss in the back drop of our own isolation, has us in a collective fear vibration. This fear is felt in the body as energy and flight or retreat which can make it difficult to find spaces of love and peace.
During the pandemic, we cared for others who expressed the same fears regarding our unstable future and many of us did this without the levity of fun and a caring support system. We separated our own feelings about the pandemic and tuned into others.
We may be wishing for things and then contradicting them, by doubting that our wishes could come to life. For example, we want close connections but we may question our ability to form healthy relationships. We would like a healthy work/life balance and a stable financial life but our stories and thoughts may hold these wants at a distance. It is very difficult to want something while expressing doubt and fear of good things happening. It blocks our creativity and puts us in a reactive and perhaps hopeless space.
Manifesting is saying to yourself and to others what you want and then believing that it can happen, it’s really that simple. The first step, is using words that reflect what you want and say them often, out loud to yourself and to others. For example, I am in the process of creating a thriving business or I am spending time daily to bring emotional peace to my day. Breathe in and believe this and keep these words separate from fear language and interactions. This is harder to do than you think, try asking your client or a friend who is sitting with a problem or set back to tell you what they want instead. What would it look like once you arrive at your ideal destination and how will you feel?
Drawing pictures and writing a few sentences daily for several weeks can further your exploration of what it looks like when a problem is solved or what it will look like when you have created something positive that you want for yourself. This allows for a new set of eyes to see where you are going and what you want. This helps you to tell yourself, friends and the universe, what you want in a clear way. This process helps you find new solutions and strategies for bringing something wonderful to life.
